FAQ

Short answers. The running app is the source of truth.

Does Aemyos run on Mac or a phone?

Windows 10 / 11 today. macOS is coming soon. There is no iPhone, iPad, or Android app.

Does it cost money?

The app is free on GitHub. You bring Anthropic (Claude) and Groq keys; they bill you. Spoken replies use Microsoft Edge TTS under Microsoft’s terms.

Does it work without the internet?

The overlay is local. Anything that needs Claude needs a network. Speech usually goes to Groq; if you skip Groq, Whisper can run on this PC (CPU). Spoken replies still use Microsoft Edge TTS.

Where does my voice and screen go?

Audio for recognition usually goes to Groq. When Aemyos acts, a screenshot and context go to Claude. Notes and profile stay on your disk. API keys stay in a local .env file. There is no Aemyos cloud account.

Will YouTube or a meeting become commands?

No. Aemyos detects media and calls and does not treat lyrics as orders. Say “Aemyos …” or hold F9 to command.

Do I need the Chrome extension?

No. It is optional for precise clicks and forms in Chrome. Without it Aemyos still uses the keyboard and the screen.

Can I mute the microphone?

Yes. Say stop listening, or use the overlay button. Hold F9 to talk while muted.

How do I stop it?

Say cancel to drop the current job. Say quit to exit Aemyos. Mute the mic to stop listening. Watch the overlay — speech and the model can mis-hear.
